Back in February my husband and niece watched a video about a bleeding veggie burger that tastes just like beef. We even shared this information with our family & friends and we added this experience to our… WHAT TO EAT LIST!
When we did research on how to get our hands on the Impossible Burger we learned that the burger would only be served on weekdays at certain times of the day in five locations. But, to our surprise when I checked last week the number of restaurants that carries this burger has grown to 9 locations and we can order the burger anytime and any day. The rule is you can NOT order the burger to go.
My husband and I, we both decided to have a nice Sabbath afternoon at Newport Beach and we made reservations to the Umami Burger in Costa Mesa. It was only a hour drive from the IE and they had free valet parking :).
Waiting patiently for my burger
Here comes the BURGER!
All the food critics were right! It does taste like beef and “YES!” I have eaten my share of Big Macs :P. The Impossible burger had the following: Two Impossible Burger patties, caramelized onions, American cheese, miso-mustard, house spread, dill pickles, lettuce, tomato and all of it together was delicious. This burger put the Boca and Morning Star Grillers burgers to shame.
The con is that this burger is pretty expensive it is a total of $16.00 (only the burger) My husband and I, have decided that this is something worth eating once a year.

I give it 5 Lillys!
